Job Summary:
BB&N is seeking a full-time College Counselor to cover a leave of absence during the Fall of 2023. We are seeking a knowledgeable college counselor to join our five-person team for the fall application cycle. We are looking for an experienced professional who has a background in school-based counseling and exceptional interpersonal skills that can be used to work toward the goal of creating and maintaining an authentic, inclusive community. We are seeking a candidate who has knowledge of and curiosity about the field of college admissions, strong organizational, writing, speaking, and listening skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines. We are seeking a candidate who is able to support the school’s mission of diversity and inclusion and who has a background that demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of intercultural fluency. We are building a team in which diversity of experiences, backgrounds, and talents are valued in order to work with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and families.
Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent is required with at least five years of college counseling experience, preferably experience on the high school side. In addition, the College Counselor will demonstrate the following competencies:
- ability to collaborate and contribute to our student-centered philosophy that focuses on listening deeply to our students as they navigate the college process
- proficiency in an Apple-based environment, Google suite for education, web-based college process management, Zoom conferencing;
- experience with MaiaLearning, Slate, or College Kickstart is a plus;
