Job Summary:
The BB&N College Counseling Office seeks a College Counseling Office Manager (CCOM) who is interested in working with high school students, learning about, and contributing to the college admissions process. The CCOM supports an office of four college counselors by organizing application materials, managing schedules, helping to create and execute events for students and families, and working with many constituencies in the college admission process, including college admission officers, faculty members, students, and parents/guardians. The CCOM helps to create an inclusive, welcoming environment in the office and is an essential source of information for students, faculty, parents/guardians, and college admissions professionals.
Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate would have 2+ years of administrative experience with strong communication skills and experience handling confidential matters. A Bachelor’s degree and experience working in an educational environment are preferred.
In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Desire to work in a school environment, connect with high school students and families from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, and help create a welcoming space;
- Strong commitment to working in, contributing to, and fostering an inclusive community;
- Strong proficiency in G Suite, Excel, and other database programs (preferably Veracross, Canvas); experience with or willingness to learn MaiaLearning and College Kickstart.
- Highly organized with multi-tasking ability;
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills;
- Excellent problem-resolution skills and a willingness to find new solutions;
- Capacity and skill to manage multiple projects simultaneously within deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively, exercise judgment and creativity, and willingness to work with others as a team;
- Meeting and event management experience;
- Team and individual calendar management;
- Discretion working with confidential and sensitive information;
- Work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, or early mornings
Salary: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00
Compensation for full-time employees includes a 403(b) plan with up to a 10% match of salary and other competitive benefits offerings. Benefits offered to eligible employees include health & dental insurance; commuter benefits; long-term disability insurance, and more.
