Classroom Assistant
2021-2022 School Year 

DESCRIPTION: 

Oak Meadow School seeks an experienced person to provide support in assisting the coverage for the parental leave of a Lower Elementary Lead Teacher. This will be a long term temporary coverage position from March to June and will assist in managing classroom activities for the end of the 2021-22 school year. The Classroom Assistant should work collaboratively and enthusiastically with a team of colleagues, administrators, and parents to nurture children both inside and outside the classroom.

This position will involve collaboration with all areas of the school, with the following primary responsibilities:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support all classroom activities as directed by the Lead Teacher.
  • Prepare the classroom environment maintaining order, cleanliness, materials and supplies.
  • Provide for the safety and well-being of all students while modeling appropriate and ethical behavior.
  • Strive for unity, harmony and cooperation through tact, helpfulness, respect and recognition of individual differences, special abilities and strengths of each student and colleague.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School and Education Director
