St. Sebastian’s School is a vibrant, Catholic independent school serving 375 boys in grades 7-12, in the MetroWest suburbs of Boston. As a thriving school, we are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Business Office Associate to join our dedicated team to support the school’s financial and business operations.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable – verify and process vendor invoices for payment
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
- Manage school’s credit accounts, usage, and reconciliation
- Accounts Receivable – manage student billing and receivables
- Ensure accurate allocation of tuition assistance / financial aid
- Assist in the processing of incoming payments (checks, credit card payments, electronic transfers)
- Generate financial reports and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (experience with Xero a plus)
- Assist with year-end closing procedures and audits
- Provide general operational support to the faculty and staff
- Assist with event budgeting and invoicing
- Coordinate with the Operations team on financial matters
- Assist with the management of insurance and risk management coverages
- Provide administrative support for school’s real estate management activities
- Assist with the preparation of tax and other regulatory filings
- Provide additional HR support as needed
- Assist with general business office operations
- Provide administrative support as needed to the Director of Finance
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with parents, faculty, and staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an accounting or financial role
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in accounting software platforms and Microsoft Excel
- Commitment to accuracy and confidentiality
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
