Associate Director of Enrollment Management

The Associate Director of Enrollment Management is responsible for the development and execution of the admissions process, stewarding families through the admissions process from their first inquiry through their enrollment, and managing efforts to not only yield students at each grade level but also retain families throughout the K-12 educational experience. Fully engaged in the enrollment cycle, this position includes interviewing candidates, reading application files, and participating in the admissions committee process. Requisite characteristics include strong organizational skills, enthusiasm in working with students, parents, and faculty, and a willingness to be flexible.
The Associate Director of Enrollment Management will have responsibility in the following areas:
- Developing and cultivating relationships with prospective students and families and serving as the primary point of contact throughout the application and admissions process.
- Supporting the development and implementation of marketing and recruitment strategies in partnership with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
- Welcoming visitors to the school, managing the admissions process, and assisting with all communication to prospective families.
- Overseeing inquiries in the admissions database, including data clean-up and entry.
- Conducting admissions interviews with candidates and parents and processing application materials.
- Developing and implementing both Parent Ambassador and a Student Tour Guide programs.
- Reviewing and evaluating admissions applicants as a member of the Admissions Committees.
- Designing and implementing admissions and enrollment events (open houses, family/student visits, assessments, new student and family events, etc.) that demonstrate best practices for independent schools and which create a sense of belonging.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues to drive prospective family interest, generating affinity, retaining current families, and inspiring engagement.
- Engaging new and returning students and families in each step of the admissions and re-enrollment process, ensuring excellent and individualized communication and experiences.
- Overseeing the collection, maintenance, and analysis of school statistical data (admissions pipeline, demographics, etc.).
- Welcoming new and returning families during Opening Days and engaging in the daily life of the school.
- Leading the school’s campus-wide enrollment efforts by partnering with colleagues to ensure successful student and family transitions, appropriate student assessment, coordination of Admissions Committee, and by building strong relationships between students, families, faculty, and staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Independent school experience required, preferable within the admissions office.
- Ability to effectively communicate in person and in writing.
- Ability to build consensus and collaborate with people at all levels of the organization.
- Promote an ethical climate that balances the needs and demands of multiple constituencies.
- Commit to diversity and inclusion with cross-cultural populations.
- Knowledge of administrative computer operating systems and terminology.
- Experience with marketing and communications.
- Strong command of technology and data management systems.
