Assistant to the Headmaster and Associate Head of School

Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester, Vermont seeks a personable, organized and self-motivated individual  to work year round in the administration office.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing schedules and appointments for the Headmaster and Associate Head of School;
  • Partnering with the Headmaster and Associate Head of School on regular communications to school constituencies;
  • Managing records, materials, and schedules for the board of trustees, including board terms, minutes, and agendas;
  • Supporting the Headmaster and Associate Head in maintaining positive school culture through regular faculty and staff acknowledgement, including years of service and other forms of recognition;
  • Tracking annual and multi-year progress toward strategic goals;
  • Coordinating substitutes using online substitute management system
  • Providing organizational support for faculty and staff professional development;
  • Serving as the point of contact and organizer for hiring and official personnel records;
  • Managing annual student and faculty travel grant applications, as well as scholarship verification processes;
  • Managing and maintaining the schoolwide calendar.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, anticipates issues and opportunities, is extremely discreet with confidential information, and enjoys a fast paced work environment. Candidates must be proficient with technology and be committed to improving systems of operation and communication.
