Job Description:
Boston University Academy is seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our tennis program as an Assistant Coach. As the Assistant Coach, you will work closely with the Head Coach to support all aspects of the team’s development, including practices, games, and player growth.
Responsibilities:
– Support the planning and execution of regular practice sessions to enhance players’ technical abilities, teamwork, and understanding of the game.
– Provide constructive feedback and guidance to players to aid in their individual skill development.
– Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
– Assist in coordinating with other coaches and staff members to ensure effective communication and coordination within the tennis program and the overall athletic department.
– Assist with travel to away competitions.
Qualifications:
– Prior experience as a tennis coach or player preferred.
– Solid understanding of tennis strategies, techniques, and rules.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school administrators.
– Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practices and games.
– Current CPR certification preferred.
– Current valid driver’s license.
– Successful completion of background check upon job offer.
Season Schedule:
– The tennis season will run from March 3 to May 16th.
– The expected weekly commitment for the Assistant Tennis Coach is approximately 10-12 hours.
– Practices are held from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM on weekdays.
