POSITION AVAILABLE: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Kingsley Montessori School is a toddler through sixth grade independent school of 300 students in Boston’s historic Back Bay. This is a full-time, year-round, 12 month position with benefits and reports to the Director of Early Childhood Education (ECE).

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

The Assistant Director supports a busy school division dedicated to the education of 2-6 year old students and their families. Duties include overseeing the daily operational needs of the Early Childhood Program including, but not limited to: 

  • Manage attendance of ECE faculty and staff
  • Organize events for the ECE Program
  • Ensure effective communications between home and school 
  • Support students and families 
  • Support teachers and curriculum
  • Support building operations duties

NECESSARY SKILLS

  • Strong organizational and data management skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to multitask, problem-solve and adapt successfully and effectively
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent telephone manner
  • Team player with a good sense of humor and a positive outlook
  • Willingness to deal with interruptions and the ability to jump in and help as needed
  • DEIB knowledge and experience, as well as cultural competency education and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree
  • Experience working with and teaching young children. Montessori experience is a plus
  • Experience in a family-facing administrative role, preferably in an independent school
  • High competence with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of database platforms such as Blackbaud preferred or willingness to learn
