Assistant Coach Boys’ Varsity Baseball
(2025-26 Season)
Function: As a member of the coaching staff you will contribute to the development, organization, supervision, and evaluation of the baseball team at Tilton School. You will work closely and collaboratively with the head coach and the leaders of the Athletics Department in the design and implementation of a program that best serves the mission and values of Tilton School and its students.
Reporting to: Varsity Head Coach & Director of Athletics
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To contribute to ensuring the health and safety of all student athletes on the team
- To model sportsmanship and ethical behavior for student athletes
- To assist with practices to make the maximum use of practice time
- To understand the rules of baseball and conform to conference & school policies
- To demonstrate an understanding of game planning, strategy, and substitutions of players according to situations
- To use a variety of proven coaching techniques to motivate student athletes
- To assist in the transportation of players to and from the practice fields
- To assist in the transportation of players to and from away games (rarely more than 1.5 hours from Tilton)
Personnel:
- To demonstrate a high level of collegiality by planning collaboratively, observing, and providing feedback to other coaches
- To seek continuous professional growth for self
Administrative:
- To assist with the organization and submission of information on the team to:
- the Communications Office for public recognition of athletic achievements
- the Advancement Office for historical purposes
- the website for public access to schedules, scores, directions, and announcements
- To assist in the management of equipment, locker rooms, and fields
