Assistant After School Teacher, Substitute/Part Time
Summit Montessori School seeks an energetic and creative individual to work as a substitute assistant teacher supporting the experienced lead teachers in our AfterCare program. Duties include, but are not limited to, supervising children, facilitating indoor and outdoor activities, maintaining ground rules and limits, preparing and maintaining the learning environment, and
maintaining a respectful and positive atmosphere in the AfterCare Program. We seek qualified candidates to support our elementary and preschool aged groups on an as-needed basis.
The ideal candidate will be able to work successfully and collaboratively in a team approach.
Applicants should have a child-centered and holistic philosophy of education and should love working
with young children.
Applicant should be a mature and responsible individual; minimum of a high school degree is preferred, but we will consider mature high school juniors and seniors. The individual must be highly reliable. Experience and training in working with young children are desirable. Pay is $20 per hour; higher with strong experience in child care settings.
Summit, a 28-year-old school housed in a beautiful historic mansion in Framingham, MA, currently enrolls 122 students, ages 18 months-12 years.
