Art Teacher, Part Time

Summit Montessori School seeks an experienced Art Teacher to lead art classes for students from ages 5 through 12 and to further develop our school Art and Design program. The ideal candidate will be an energetic individual with experience teaching students in a studio setting within these age ranges, who is tech savvy, and who understands the importance of integrating the visual arts into the learning lives of children. They will have experience in successfully guiding children of ages 5 through 12 to deepen their artistic expression and visual creativity. Candidates must hold the minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and have experience teaching art to groups of elementary-aged students. Experience in a Montessori environment is preferable but not a requirement. This part time position offers competitive pay and the opportunity for
professional development. Summit, a 27-year-old school, is housed in an historic Victorian building in a wooded neighborhood in Framingham. The school recently expanded its campus to accommodate a
growing Beginners program and to add community space. The school currently enrolls 116 students, ages 18 months-12 years. Summit holds accreditations from the American Montessori Society and the Association of Independent Schools of New England. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience and training.
