The Position

Jackson Walnut Park School seeks a full-time Annual Giving and Special Events Coordinator for the 2023-2024 school year.  The Coordinator works closely with the Head of School and the Leadership Team to direct and oversee two key areas of the school’s fundraising initiatives—the Annual Fund, and the Annual Gala/Auction and other events.  She/he shares supervisory responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant to Admission and Advancement with the Director of Admission and Enrollment Management.  Gracious and organized, the right person will be a team player who contributes to the primary fundraising aspects of the school.

Broad responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Annual Fund, including planning, creation of materials, recruitment of parent volunteers, coordination of mailing, recording and acknowledgement of gifts.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Annual Auction Gala and special fundraising events, including planning, recruitment of parent volunteers, budgeting, communications, oversight of vendors, running of events and reporting of results.
  • Provide regular updates of fundraising activity to Head of School and Board of Trustees.
  • Serve as a school representative to the Parent School Association (PSA).
  • Build positive professional relationships with all constituencies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and significant technology competencies, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and duties simultaneously.  She/he will have at least two years of relevant experience, preferably in a school environment, with a track record of success. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge advancement database, One Cause fundraising software is a plus.  The successful candidate will possess strong planning and communication skills, sound judgment and discretion while maintaining a high level of confidentiality, a proven ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse constituents, a love of children and schools, and a respect for and commitment to the mission of JWP and the Sisters of St. Joseph.
