 Alumnae/i and Family Engagement Coordinator

Burke Mountain Academy is seeking a passionate and energetic professional to join the BMA Advancement Team to plan and implement programs and communications to strategically engage alumnae/i and families. Candidates should also be enthusiastic about participating in the life of an active boarding school.


Specific duties and responsibilities: 

  • Establish and build relationships with BMA’s wide range of alumnae/i (locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally).
  • Establish and build relationships with BMA families (locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally).
  • Develop, manage, and execute a strategic plan and calendar for alumnae/i and family engagement that supports the mission of BMA, encourages meaningful involvement and volunteer opportunities, including but not limited to networking events, communications, and programs. 
  • Collaborate with the Dir. of Advancement and key alumnae/i volunteers to help to establish and serve as a liaison for BMA’s Alumni Association.
  • Be a contributing member of BMA’s Advancement Team with the specific responsibility for increasing alumnae/i participation in the school’s fundraising initiatives, including identifying and qualifying alumnae/i prospects for gifts, promoting alumnae/i support, and stewardship of alumnae/i. 
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator in the development of alumnae/i and parent communications plans within BMA’s comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. 
  • Partner with the Development Assistant to ensure accurate and current alumnae/i database records (contact & biographical information, career information, correspondence, engagement activity, etc.). 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Enrollment to create pathways for alumnae/i to support BMA’s enrollment efforts. 
  • Partner with BMA’s Marketing and Communications Coordinator on the content and management of BMA’s social media pages to promote and monitor engagement (i.e., LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook). 

Additional duties and responsibilities: 

  • Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events
  • Willingness to travel periodically for BMA events and alumnae/i and family engagement activities 
  • Enthusiasm about participating in the life of an active and dynamic boarding school, which requires adaptability, collaboration, humor, and a willingness to interact with students. 


  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 3-5 years of relevant development and/or alumni relations experience
  • Alumnae/i of BMA or mission-aligned ski academies are encouraged to apply
  • Dynamic interpersonal communication skills to work with a broad range of constituents
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
