After School Teaching Artist – Piano, Guitar, Violin, Cello, Voice, Woodwind, and/or Brass

Wellan Montessori School is accepting applications from Teaching Artists for after school piano, guitar, violin, cello, voice, woodwind, and/or brass lessons during the 2022-2023 school year. Beginning in September 2022, Wellan will offer individual in-person lessons after school to students in kindergarten through grade 8. Recitals will be held at the end of each semester. Candidates with interest in/ability to teach additional after school chorus and/or early childhood music classes will be given preference.
The successful applicant will have excellent skills on their instrument(s), experience teaching children in kindergarten through grade 8, and the ability to foster a love of music in their students.
The pay rate for this position is between $60-$70/hour.
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related music field required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience with the Suzuki Method preferred.
- Ability to teach more than one instrument is preferred.
- Resume, Cover Letter, and at least two references are required in order to be considered for this position. References should include parents of at least two current or recent students.
