Advancement Associate

Administrator / Full-Time
Annual Salary Range: $50,000 – $60,000

Scope of Work: School-wide communications, fundraising and events support

Experience Requirements:

  • 2 or more years experience preferred in marketing, communications, development or related work
  • Experience with event planning and execution
  • Proficiency with databases–donor software a plus
  • Proficiency with design and communications software (MailChimp, Adobe, Canva, etc.)
  • Proficiency with social media (Facebook, Instagram)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing
  • Experience working in collaborative environments with both colleagues and volunteers
  • Comfort working in a culturally diverse environment and committed to embracing differences and valuing multiple perspectives

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree

General Responsibilities:  

The Advancement Associate works to support all areas of the school’s advancement efforts.  Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Advancement Associate will additionally collaborate most closely with the Director of Admission and the Marketing Associate to further the school’s communications, marketing and fundraising efforts.  They will interact with all areas of the school community—faculty/staff, parents, administration. They are responsible for significant aspects of communications, creation of marketing materials, data entry, and planning of and participation in functions and events.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

Internal and External Communications:

  • Write and send weekly newsletter to internal families in collaboration with the Administration (Currents)
  • Write and send special feature newsletters to internal families (Around the Bend)
  • Collaborate with Admissions Office on quarterly “What’s Happening @ Riverbend” newsletter
  • Assist the Director of Advancement with creation and publication of Alumni Newsletter (Raven’s Nest)

Graphic design:

  • Design ads, invitations, flyers, brochures, event programs, school banners, Screen Cloud TV graphics, and other collateral materials (Canva, Adobe Illustrator)

Photography & Social Media:

  • Take photos at school events for publications and digital platforms in collaboration with Marketing Associate
  • Work with Marketing Associate to generate content for Facebook and Instagram

Advertising:

  • Assist the Director of Advancement with maintaining school profiles on Niche, GreatSchools.com, PrivateSchoolReview.com, and other platforms
  • Submit admissions events and Community Learning Series workshops to local online calendars

Fundraising Support:

  • Assist the Director of Advancement in creating fundraising materials, such as the annual report, annual fund brochure, sponsorship packets, and other collateral and digital materials as needed
  • Support Director of Advancement in event planning and execution, with a special focus on the annual spring fundraiser and Giving Week
  • Support Director of Advancement in data entry, database maintenance, and acknowledgement letter management
  • Aid Director of Advancement with solicitation of community and corporate sponsorships
  • Provide support for direct mail and donor solicitation campaigns

Additional duties or adjustments to the specific responsibilities outlined above may occur as circumstances may require from time to time.
