Mission and Background
Founded in 1970, Landmark is a coeducational, multi-campus, approved Massachusetts Chapter 766
Private Day and Boarding school enrolling students in grades 2-12 diagnosed with dyslexia or another
language-based learning disability (LBLD). Landmark’s unique, individualized approach empowers
students to reach their academic and social potential.
Landmark’s mission is to enable and empower students with language-based learning disabilities (LBLD)
to reach their educational and social potential through an exemplary school program complemented by
outreach and training, assessment, and research.
Landmark School seeks a motivated individual to join the Admission Team. This individual will help the
Team fulfill the enrollment goals and enroll mission-appropriate students at both campuses and summer
programs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who have language-based
learning disabilities, have a strong understanding of the Landmark admission profile and enjoy working
with both adults and students. He or she should have a solid understanding of the Landmark Teaching
Principles, as well as the Mission of the School. The Admission Counselor reports to the Director of
Admission. The Admission Office operates at a fast pace and requires someone with strong attention to
detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multi-task and shift attention to tasks as situations
arise. The ideal candidate will be a proven team player with a strong work ethic.
● Work with Prospective Families
-Provide guidance at all stages of the admission process from inquiry through acceptance;
responsibilities may include (with training):
-help families determine whether to apply by reviewing diagnostic testing and discussing
students’ learning profiles
-walk families through the application process and requirements
-describe details of Landmark’s program offerings
● Coordinate High School Admission Ambassador Program
-Coordinate all facets of the Student Tour Guide/Ambassador Program: recruitment, training,
-Be a presence on campus at lunch, meetings, events, etc. to build relationships with students
and faculty
● Plan student visits to Landmark High School
-Plan meaningful visits for prospective students and their families including lunch in the dining
hall, meetings with administrators, etc.
● Monthly Informational Visits
-Liaise with campuses to schedule monthly weekday and some Saturday informational visits
-Provide support at group visits for both campuses
● Enrollment Management
-Work with admission team members: synthesize data regarding returning and incoming students
to monitor space availability
● New Parent/New Student events
Work with various departments to ensure that families have a warm welcome and access to
information as they begin at Landmark. These include opening days and welcome events.
● Recruitment/Travel
-Travel domestically to promote Landmark at conferences, fairs, and school visits
-Reach out to schedule visits to feeder schools
-Meet with educational consultants as well as prospective and past students in geographic
regions where recruitment travel is taking place
-Partner with other offices, chiefly Marketing and Communications, to build a social media and
email, and online ad strategy in support of attracting and engaging prospective students and

-Adapt to change; the Admission Office is continually shifting its systems to better serve the
needs of prospective families and the Landmark Campuses.
● Bachelor’s Degree
● Adaptable to learning new programs and processes, FACTS, Inresonance, and Google Suite,
specifically Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Calendar
● Experience working with students and families particularly in independent schools or colleges
● Excellent interpersonal, writing, communication, analytical, and organizational skills
● Must possess energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor
● Work collaboratively with different constituencies and departments at Landmark
● Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
● Ability to be mobile and in a multi-story building and attend meetings throughout our two
● Night and weekend responsibilities for admission events
