The School
Jackson Walnut Park School is an early childhood and primary school sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph. Located in an historic neighborhood in Newton, JWP features an authentic Montessori early childhood program and a K-6 independent school in the Catholic tradition. The school offers a rich, discovery-based curriculum, with signature programs that include STEAM education at all grades, a language arts program that incorporates principles from Lucy Calkins’ Reading and Writing Project, and foundations in three languages by sixth grade: Spanish, Mandarin and Latin. The Position
Jackson Walnut Park School seeks a full-time Administrative Assistant to Admission and Advancement for the 2023-2024 school year. The Administrative Assistant works closely with the Directors of Admission and Advancement to support the work of their offices in support of the school’s mission and values. The Administrative Assistant takes on broad-ranging responsibilities in admissions, advancement and communication. Gracious and organized, the right person will be a team player who contributes to a wide range of outward facing aspects of the school.
Broad responsibilities include:
- Coordinate communication, events, and data-management in support of the Admission office.
- Coordinate communication, events, and data-management in support of the Advancement office.
- Prepare and assist with mailings and other communications
- Prepare reports for admissions and advancement offices.
- Manage the school’s website, social media channels, and other communication platforms.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Build positive professional relationships with all constituencies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and significant technology competencies, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and duties simultaneously. She/he will have at least two years of relevant experience preferably in a school environment, with a track record of success. Familiarity with the Ravenna admission database, Raiser’s Edge advancement database, DocuSign, and RenWeb/FACTS Student Information System is a plus. Social media marketing experience—primarily Facebook and Instagram—WordPress website experience are highly desired. The successful candidate will possess strong oral and written communication skills, sound judgment and discretion while maintaining a high level of confidentiality, a proven ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse constituents, a love of children and schools, and a respect for and commitment to the mission of JWP and the Sisters of St. Joseph.
