Calling all DEI Practitioners!

Join us for this in-person celebration of your work of the past year. Our friends at Governor’s Academy are hosting on their lovely campus for this fun networking event with food, drink, and some surprises. Together, we will look forward to next year and hear your topic ideas for AISNE’s upcoming 2023 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference. Join us as we co-create a community, strategies, and urgency to enact the resilience we need to bring our full selves to our leadership as diversity practitioners.

We will be welcoming special guest speaker, Dr. Gene Batiste, who will be leading AISNE’s upcoming DEI Leadership Development Cohort in the 2023-2024 school year (Details to come).

Dr. Batiste will discuss how, as diversity practitioners in independent schools, we have to constantly prove our value. More than ever before, circumstances in our schools and society require us to physically, emotionally, and spiritually confront and negotiate our very existence as diversity practitioners, let alone our value, worth, and excellence in our school communities and organizations. The current wave of backlash and weaponization of DEIB has led to a severe increase of anxiety, stress, and trauma particularly for teachers and leaders of color. This session explores the poignancy of respectability politics and master status utilizing a ten-step resilience framework for building and strengthening our sense of self-worth and agency.

Come be in community with your peers, and see old friends and new.

Cost: $25/pp | Open exclusively to AISNE members.
