FUNCTION: The Academy is interested in reaching talented students throughout the country and cultivating strong relationships with influencers and school counselors, especially in the middle part of the country. The job will require extensive travel, conducting interviews with applicants, attending school fairs, hosting receptions, and evaluating applications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Interview candidates and families
• Respond to inquiries about suitability of Exeter for specific students
• Travel to designated cities to meet with students to expose them to the Academy
• Make presentations to groups of students and parents about Exeter in particular and about independent education in general
• Work with guidance counselors and other adults who know students in arranging groups of students to address
• Work with Exeter alums who volunteer to assist in recruitment activity
• Chair, or be a member of, a subcommittee of the Admissions Committee which selects a portion of the student body, organizing faculty members for this task
• Prepare reports regarding Admissions business as instructed by the Director
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; fluency in Spanish is helpful.
Experience: Prior admissions experience (preferably at an independent school) is preferred.
